Mission Statement

The Philadelphia Music Theater Works is committed to the development and performance of the vast and ever changing world of the musical theater. We seek to present work that is contemporary and cutting edge in tandem with that which is classic and traditional in nature through an ongoing expansion and examination of the boundaries of modern storytelling. We commit ourselves fully to the traditions and legacies of the great craftsmen of the musical theater who have come before us and seek to build upon their creative discoveries, large and small.

Our vision is continually cultivating with the ever changing landscape of the Philadelphia theater community and beyond. Through words and music we look to tell stories that inspire both the intellect and spirit, forever re-imagining what the musical theater can and should be. In an ongoing effort to sustain and breathe new life into this distinctly American art form the Philadelphia Music Theater Works offers a creative playground and safe-haven to all theater artists who find passion and promise in the musical theater.
